Dear Instructors, I have always practice magnification immediately after classical meditation. As I understand it, magnification is meant to supplement classical meditation so I was wondering whether it is best to practice magnification before or after classical meditation as I practice both in one session. Thanks for your time and attention. Message was created on 11/28/2005 7:50:15 PM |

It is best to practice standing meditation (magnification) before the classical meditation since the later will let the motivated qi (during magnification) back to the low dantian -- the sea of qi, and keep the qi in its own channel. When we say the magnification is supplemental to classic meditation, which implies classic meditation is the core of Taiji Five-element qigong, practitioner should focus on this form and repeat it, while magnification is just a supplementary, one a day or twice a day before classic meditation should be enough. Remeber, you need only close once at the end if you practice multiple forms continuously. Hope this helps. Have a great holiday season! Message was created on 12/23/2005 12:31:41 AM |
