For the past couple of months I have been getting headaches in my third eye. Recently, I have developed redness in the same area. I have tried to feel it fully or breath into it. I have tried to ask what messages it wants me to hear. When it was first opened, all I could feel was wind or energy in the area. That doesn't happen very regularily. Does anyone know why this is happening? and what I could do about it on my own? Message was created on 3/22/2006 4:36:41 PM |

It is strongly recommended that you consult with the instructor or master of the qigong you are practicing for question like this. However, as a general observation, many Budhist meditations focus on third eye area, which may generate some sensation or even headache, I believe the master or instructor should tell you what is the appropriate method or attitude toward it. The Taiji Five-element qigong we teach at WISH is based on Daoism philosophy and meditation method, the focus is alway on lower Dantian when doing regular meditation or stay empty minded, which would not have the third eye headache problem. You may try to change your focus during meditition, do not pay attention to third eye sensation at all for a while to see what happen. The real experience of third-eye openning should not occur until you experience the sensations of qi striking the three gates on the spinal cord. Good luck with your qi exploration.
